MUMS ON STRIKE on Friday 15 April 2005
What would happen if mum downed tools, packed her bags and went off to a health spa leaving dad in charge of the houseÉand the kids?
Each programme will feature two families. Will there be chaos or will the dads rise to the challenge, change the nappies, cook the fish fingers, and do the laundry without putting red socks in with the whites?
Mum will head off in a limo for a weekend of pampering, leaving dad in charge. And she will remove the one item from the house she reckons stops him pulling his weight in the first place. It could be the TV remote, the computer games or the golf clubs! The mums will leave a list of chores that need doing, and so he will really appreciate her work load she wonÕt have stocked up on food over the last week Éor done the laundry.
On day two the dad will have to face a task their partner reckons heÕs always avoided in the past. It might be taking all three youngsters shopping for school shoes, or preparing a picnic and taking them out for an activity day.
MeanwhileÉback at the health spa the mums will be able to watch film of their partners efforts, will this make them laugh, cry or start divorce proceedings? On the final day the two dads and their children will meet up over Sunday lunch at a restaurant to compare notes on how they coped.
MeanwhileÉthe two mums have sneaked home to see what state itÕs in. Are they impressed or do they have to pull on the rubber gloves and get to work immediately?
And when he gets home with the kids will there be a reward or a row for dad?
